Membership terms
These terms apply to membership of SSAS 4 Accountants. By applying, you agree to them on behalf of yourself and your practice.
Who we are
SSAS 4 Accountants Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company no. 17354051, at The Auld Bank, 3 Front Street, Hetton le Hole, Sunderland DH5 9PE. Contact: terry.dunbar@ssas4accountants.com, 0191 249 9929.
Who can join
- Membership is for accountants and professional advisers in practice in the UK.
- We verify every application before granting access, as set out in our privacy notice. We aim to decide within 1 working day.
- We may decline an application, or ask for more detail, where we cannot verify it.
What membership includes
Access to the member area: the MBP framework, training courses, reference tools and the technical desk. We will add to and update the content over time, and may change or withdraw individual items.
Founding membership
- The first 30 practices whose applications are verified become founding members.
- Founding members pay no membership fee, for as long as the practice remains a member. This is not a time-limited offer.
- Founding membership belongs to the practice and cannot be transferred to another practice.
- Founding members are invited to help shape the curriculum.
Membership fees after the founding cohort
- Once the founding places are filled, membership will carry a monthly fee. We will publish it before anyone is asked to pay it.
- No card details are needed to apply. You will never be charged without agreeing to the fee first.
- If the fee for paying members changes, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email.
Information, not advice
- Everything we provide is factual information on UK pension legislation for professionals. It does not constitute advice and does not invite engagement in any investment activity.
- You remain responsible for your own professional judgement, and for anything you say to or do for your clients.
- Investment advice, and advice on pension transfers, require a firm authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. Any pension transfer should be checked by a regulated adviser.
- Pension rules change. Content is accurate on the date shown on it; always check current legislation before relying on it.
No introductions, no referral fees
- We do not deal with business owners, do not receive client introductions and pay no commission or referral fee.
- Membership does not depend on introducing any client, or on which specialist a client chooses.
- Our founder also runs a separate SSAS practice. This is disclosed in full in the member area, and nothing in your membership depends on using it.
Your commitments
- Use the member area for your professional work only, and keep your log-in to yourself.
- Keep to the undertaking you gave when applying: you will not give pension or investment advice you are not authorised to give, or encourage a client towards any particular provider.
- Member materials are for you, not your clients, unless an item is marked as suitable to share.
Our content
The content of the member area belongs to SSAS 4 Accountants Ltd. You may use it within your practice, but not republish, sell or share it outside your practice.
Leaving, and ending membership
- You can leave at any time by emailing us.
- We may suspend or end a membership if verification details stop being accurate or these terms are broken. We will tell you why.
- If we ever close the service, we will give members reasonable notice.
Liability
We prepare our content with care, but we do not accept liability for decisions made by you or your clients in reliance on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will email members about any material change before it takes effect.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
